Machine Embroidery and Quilting - May 2008

Kelley McKenzie of Kelley's Pins and Needles presented the May program with demonstrations of a variety of machine embroidery techniques. She discussed stabilizers, hoops, threads, and computerized patterns and their role in successful stitching. Also helping with the demonstrations by showing their embroidery projects were Clara Oakes, Wanda Wallace, Sally Henderson, Sarah Farris, Linda Ladner, and Nell Cooley.

Dr. Michael Garrett, executive director of Homes of Hope for Children, attended our meeting and told of the progress in realizing the dream of a children's home. The Children's Quilt Group gave him a quilt to auction at the upcoming July 25 fundraiser. Linda Ladner also donated an embroidered wall hanging for the auction.
